Okay. I live in NYC and we all know that people in New York are really into their dogs. However, I have to tell you, I never thought they'd be so into them that they'd literally choose dogs that resemble and emulate them -- both physically and behaviorally. Is this a fact or simply just my hypothesis? On Saturday, I decided to take a little trip through the park and see just accurate my "hypothesis" was. --
The Dauntinig Doberman, or not -- his owner; a man with the same coloring, sleek and pointed nose and slim figure . . . a little wirey. Both a a bit skittish and untrusting of those around them.
The Bullish Bulldog -- nice man, but like his dog scowls, has a broad chest and saunters slowly down the sidewalk . . . snorting along the way. Hmm, not sure if he's marriage material or not.
The Pointed Pointer -- this was amazing. Not only did he have the same pointed features, skittish and hyperactive behaviors, but his clothing actually matched the brown and white patterns of his German Short-Haired Pointer. My question is . . . does he lift his leg on your furniture like the last of his breed did in my house?
And last, but not least, the Irresistable Irish Wolfhound. Tall, lanky, grey haired, with a bit of a messy beard -- but lovingly adorable. Like an old English professor. Two of a kind walkng down York Avenue -- an old man and his best friend. And something tells me that at one point in time, they looked nothing alike. But as time passes they become one and the same.
So why do you think we choose pets that either look like us or, in some cases, we look like them? Good question. Not only would I like your thoughts on this, but I'd love your photos. Send me your favorite "look-alike" photos and we'll definitely post them on the site.
In the meantime, Good Pet Karma!!
